Dong Giang, Nam Giang are the highland of Quang Nam, on the East of Hoi An, 90 km away from Hoi an by hill road and 3 hours driving by car. The trip will give you a chance to discover the new land, negleted natural mighty mountains, a part of the Ho Chi Minh trails – the legend road during Viet Nam war.

DAY 1: HOI AN – DONG GIANG – CO TU VILLAGES (L, D)
07:00 – Depart from Hoi An with your tour guide and driver. Journey westward into the lush, mountainous regions of Quang Nam to explore untouched forests and the cultural life of the Co Tu ethnic minority.
09:00 – Stop at Dong Giang Tea Plantation (Quyet Thang) — the largest tea farm in Central Vietnam, covering over 2,100 hectares and producing up to 800 tons of tea annually. Enjoy a panoramic view of endless tea hills and the refreshing highland air.
09:30 – Follow the scenic Kon River to Ta Vac Village, home of the Co Tu people. Cross the hanging bridge and immerse yourself in the peaceful, authentic village life. Friendly locals with warm smiles and bright eyes welcome visitors with curiosity and kindness.
11:00 – Explore Droong Village, a traditional Co Tu settlement known for its intricate brocade weaving. Meet local artisans and learn about this time-honored craft.
12:30 – Visit Bho Hoong Village for a local lunch of bamboo-tube rice, grilled meats, forest vegetables, Cuot cakes, stream fish, and traditional wines like Ruou Can, Tavac, and Tr’đin. After lunch, rest in the community guesthouse.
14:00 – Take a guided walk through Bho Hoong. With over 300 residents, the majority Co Tu, more than 50% of the families still practice traditional weaving and basketry. The village preserves Co Tu architecture, images, and artifacts. In the center, a Guol House surrounded by five Moong houses reflects the layout of a classic Co Tu village.
16:00 – Check in and relax at the guesthouse.
18:00 – Enjoy a delicious dinner featuring Co Tu delicacies and traditional wines.
19:00 – Stroll along the Kon River, enjoying the peaceful evening ambiance of Bho Hoong.
Optional: Witness a Tung Tung & Za Za dance performance – a vibrant cultural expression of Co Tu youth.
DAY 2: BHO HOONG – TREKKING – RETURN TO HOI AN (B, L)
07:30 – Breakfast at the guesthouse.
08:30 – Start a light trekking journey through the forest. Accompanied by a local guide, learn about the architecture of the Guol house, Co Tu customs, and the role of the Zong house (a traditional sleeping space). Hike through nearby villages, cross rivers, enjoy the forest, and stop at a stream for swimming and relaxation.
11:00 – Return to Bho Hoong for check-out.
12:00 – On the way back, stop at the Tuy Loan Ancient Communal House, more than 500 years old, and visit a local organic herb garden. Enjoy a traditional Quang-style lunch with Tuy Loan noodles, a regional specialty.
15:00 – Return to Da Nang or Hoi An. End of tour.
